Growing up I was always a huge fan of Martial arts and boxing. I have always been fascinated by the idea of using technique and intelligence to defeat an opponent. This interest brought me to MAS, where I was exposed to Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu. Under the tutelage of Kru Chris Kew I trained and competed in Muay Thai, winning various National and North American titles. Along the way I began training Jiu Jitsu, as I wanted to become a well-rounded martial artist and compete in Mixed Martial Arts. Jiu Jitsu taught me that with technique and leverage, size and physical advantage can be defeated. I have always been small so this concept appealed to me. I began learning about the rich history and culture of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and our Renzo Gracie Lineage. Renzo Gracie Jiu Jitsu is a style that has proven to be one of the most effective schools of Jiu Jitsu, proven in both mixed martial arts and grappling competition. I earned my Blue Belt under Renzo Gracie Black Belt Professor Pat Cooligan in 2016. I have now been training at the MAS Academy of Martial Arts for 7 years, where I have represented the academy in not only Muay thai competition but Jiu Jitsu and MMA competition as well. For the past 2 years I have been teaching as one of the Head Jiu Jitsu instructors at the Academy, while still actively competing. Training at MAS has instilled in me values of confidence, discipline and work ethic. My life has been shaped for the better and I believe the MAS Academy of Martial Arts can do the same for you!
